The tax phone number and other service numbers of the tax authorities have not been accessible since yesterday morning. A ministry spokesman said this was the result of a “regular update” of the system over the weekend. On Sunday evening it was decided that something had gone wrong.
So the system received a new update Sunday night. It wasn’t completed until Monday morning. As a result, employees were unable to access the information they needed to answer questions. So people who called were asked to try again at a later time.
After the update was completed last night, a new problem appeared. Incoming calls are no longer evenly distributed among the available staff. “We’re doing everything we can to resolve that today, but we’re not sure about that,” the spokesperson said.
Service personnel can call abroad. People with urgent questions can leave a response request on the site. They will then be helped as quickly as possible, the service says.
The service answers the questions of thousands of callers on a normal day.
