This month, Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms, will be bringing virtual reality goggles to business users. The Meta Quest Pro has a more powerful chip than the Quest 2 glasses aimed at gamers, but can also be used for a much shorter period of time before needing a recharge. Meta announced the new virtual reality glasses during its special conference. Quest pro will cost $1,500 in the US.

What kind of work to do in virtual reality remained unclear during the show. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, described “serious consumers who want the best or people who want to get work done” as the ideal customer. Some of the options offered by glasses are aimed at meetings, for example. For example, glasses can track faces and eyes, making conversations in virtual reality seem more real and therefore more personal.

Facebook changed the company’s name to Meta Platforms last year. The company is fully committed to what it calls the Metaverse. This is a computer world where people can meet each other, work, but also play games, for example.

Zuckerberg recently posted a picture of his avatar on social media. This caused a lot of jokes about him, because the hypothetical Mark Zuckerberg did not look very good. According to US media reports, Meta believes that its developers are also using the virtual world that the company has produced quite a bit.
