TAMPA – TRU Simulation + Training Inc. Sold the complete flight simulator (FFS) to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Division) (RFDS). The FFS will be Level D eligible and designed to be reconfigurable to support training for the entire RFDS King Air fleet, including the Beechcraft King Air 260, King Air 350 and four King Air 360 variants ordered in 2021.
King Air Full-Flight Simulator is equipped with Pro Line Fusion avionics from Collins Aerospace. The FFS will include the REALFeel TRU Control Loading System, providing a highly realistic flying experience. The simulator’s complete flight movement integrates the TRU’s REALCue system, which includes an electric motion base with 60-inch actuators. To create a realistic training environment, the visual system is equipped with high-resolution projectors on a 200 x 40-degree screen.
The new simulator will be the first of its kind in Australia and will be located in a new purpose-built training facility adjacent to the RFDS base in Bundaberg. You are expected to obtain a qualification from the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and be ready for training in 2023.
