Last week Max Verstappen’s Red Bull shone, this week Formula 1 fans can sample more of the sport at the Holland Mall in Leidschendam. In the coming days you can enjoy watching Il Pitstop by Aston Martin, in association with sponsor Peroni.
As the name suggests, the “Il Pitstop” is also an opportunity to start as a pit stop challenge mechanic, where you have to change the tire of an Aston Martin AMR22 ASAP.
In addition to the stopping challenge, there is also a display model of the AMR22 to admire up close in what is supposed to be a scaled down version of a motorhome. This is not just a mobile home: this home is called “multisensoryIn short, a fan can not only see Formula 1, but can hear it – through a group radio – and even smell it.
Jessica Hawkins, W Series driver and ambassador for the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, sees “Il Pitstop” as an opportunity for Formula 1 fans to take a closer look at the sport. “Only 20 percent of Formula 1 fans have ever raced in Formula 1, which is pretty crazy to achieve,” Hawkins said. “This gives people, who for whatever reason are unable to get into the ring, the opportunity to admire her up close.”
“Il Pitstop” can be visited free of charge from Thursday 1 September to Sunday 4 September at the Holland Mall in Leidschendam. Thursday to Saturday open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Sunday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
