You’re not likely to hear a butcher tell people to stop eating meat. cut himself with it. But you wouldn’t expect Tesla CEO Elon Musk to tell the world that the world still needs gas and oil. However, Musk made this remarkable statement during an energy conference in Norway.

“Realistically, we will have to use oil and gas in the short term,” said Elon Musk. Otherwise, the whole civilization will collapse. One of the biggest challenges the world has ever faced is the shift towards sustainable energy supplies and a sustainable economy. It will take several decades before all this is achieved.

For this region of Europe, Musk sees something of a wind farm in the North Sea, along with batteries that can store energy. This will be a powerful and sustainable way to supply energy in the winter.

Self-driving cars by the end of the year?

But for now, Elon’s focus is elsewhere. “There are two technologies that I focus on and I want to be ready before the end of the year. The first is that you give us the spacecraft [van Musks bedsrijf SpaceX, red.] into Earth orbit and the second is to make Teslas self-driving. In the United States, autonomous driving should be launched across the country, and possibly in Europe, depending on regulations.”
