HelloFresh meal box delivery also attracted more customers in the second quarter. Although consumers travel widely and faced high inflation, the company has managed to expand its customer base. However, the higher turnover did not bring any additional profit.

Now all over the world there are eight million people ordering boxes from the original German company. This means an increase of 4.1%.

In addition to increasing the number of customers, the average amount they spend at HelloFresh has also increased. For example, the number of orders per customer has increased.

In the second quarter, the company served nearly 270 million meals. That was 6.2 percent more than the previous year. These meals were also sold for a larger amount.

All this resulted in HelloFresh having a turnover of just under €2 billion. That was more than a quarter compared to the same period the previous year. More than half of these came from the United States.

However, costs rose faster than revenues. As a result, adjusted operating profit decreased from €157.8 million in the second quarter of 2021 to €145.9 million in the last quarter.
