Midwife Helen Rhodes, 46, has lived abroad for 15 years but has now returned to the UK with her family for the first time. But during that flight the woman died in her sleep. It became unresponsive and could not be revived.

The whole incident happened in front of her young children and her husband. They also stayed next to the mother for the rest of the trip. “For the remaining eight hours of the flight, Helen slept in her seat, breathless. While this was very shocking for the family, they all had time to tell her what she was going to say,” a friend wrote on the GoFundMe page prepared for the family.

The plane landed in Frankfurt, where the woman’s body was removed from the plane. Her husband and children flew to the UK.

This was the first time since Helen had seen her family again after the pandemic. Unfortunately, you never saw them again.
