Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed Thursday that HBO Max and Discovery+ will be combined into a new streaming service. The media conglomerate did so during a quarterly figures presentation.
In recent days, there has been a lot of talk and speculation about the plans said by David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, was to reveal which streaming services the company owns.
In his presentation, he confirmed that HBO Max and Disovery+ will indeed disappear as separate presenters. The platforms will be combined into one new application.

HBO Max and Discovery+ currently have 92 million subscribers. Warner Bros. Discovery hopes to reach 130 million subscribers with its new streaming service by 2025.
The company wants to achieve this growth, among other things, by offering users various subscription options. For example, they are considering offering a free version with ads in addition to paid subscriptions.

The new streaming service is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2023 (about a year from now) in the United States. In 2024, the app will be rolled out to the rest of the world.
The company has not yet announced a name for the new platform. And the Reuters news agency wrote yesterday, that the matter has not been settled internally yet.
