According to Putin, Russia has passed economic sanctions well

Jeffrey Clark, June 18, 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the West in a lengthy speech at the Economic Forum in St Petersburg on Friday. He accused the United States of treating other countries as “colonies” and said Russia had bypassed economic sanctions well. Reuters news agency reported that the bleak outlook for the Russian economy did not materialize.

“Nothing will be the same in geopolitics,” Putin said in his speech. According to him, the European Union has lost its “political sovereignty”. The European Union was accused of printing money to fight inflation. He also denied that the economic problems that many countries are currently experiencing are caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He reiterated his claim that a “military operation” in the country was necessary to discredit the country.

He said Putin plans to continue doing business with Western companies that still want to. According to him, economic sanctions against Russia are aimed at destroying his country. “We are a strong people and we can handle any challenge. Like our ancestors, we will solve any problem.”
