New round of layoffs at iHeart Media – RadioVisie

New round of layoffs at iHeart Media – RadioVisie

Brian Rodriguez, June 12, 2022

iHeart Media, the largest provider of commercial radio in the United States, has begun another round of layoffs. Reports from various radio marketplaces come from employees who were allowed to pack up on the spot.

The reason for the new reorganization may be that lower turnover is expected for the second half of 2022. And because budgets for the rest of the year have already been set, the workforce is being reduced again. Layoffs affect not only Digges and presenters, but also active staff behind the scenes.

For example, program director Lance Houston of 106.7 The Bull (WBWL) in Boston and Tim Moore, program director of seven radio stations in the New Hampshire area, were thanked for their services. Both have worked for iHeart Media for over ten years. In Chicago, the evening deejay Jordan ‘JRDN’ Foster can no longer be heard on 103.5 Kiss FM (WKSC), while weekend host and file reader Bart Shore of 93.9 Lite FM (WLIT) also got his stuff. Wednesday morning – June 8 – it was evacuated after more than 25 years after its last posting on the 103.5 WGCI.

It is not yet known how many employees will be laid off this time. More employees are expected to receive bad news after this weekend. (Radioworld)
