Utrecht, 4 April 2022 – PA Consulting (PA) announces the creation of the PA Foundation. The goal of the Foundation is to provide access to quality education and employment opportunities – especially in the sciences – and to remove barriers to talent from disadvantaged groups. The PA Foundation will provide grants to charities and non-profit organizations, and PA staff will volunteer their skills and experience in partnership with the Foundation.
The Palestinian Authority will provide the new institution with permanent financial support for this purpose. The consulting firm also acts as a partner to bring together charitable and not-for-profit donations with the skills and experience of its employees.
Partly thanks to the support of staff and sponsors, the PA has pledged more than €10 million to the PA Foundation. This will be distributed over the next five years among their community-led projects.
First year goals:
- Provided over 1.1 million euros to fund global initiatives
- Partnering with the Palestinian Authority to provide 10,000 hours of free work to its nonprofit partners and beneficiaries
- Reach more than 1,000 people from disadvantaged backgrounds to improve their skills and career prospects
Administrative regulation
The PA Foundation is led by a Board of Directors made up of independent trustees and current employees of the Palestinian Authority.
Anita Chandraker has been appointed as independent chairperson. She is a former partner in the Palestinian Authority and a board member. During her 30-year career in PA, she has advised clients on strategic, technical and digital initiatives. She was one of the driving forces behind the PA’s Raspberry Pi competition, which challenges schoolchildren in the UK and the Netherlands to develop innovative solutions to societal challenges using the Raspberry Pi microcomputer. She is also a trustee of the Fair Trade Foundation.
Martin Tillich, a member of the Financial Technology Advisory Board and a former partner in the Palestinian Authority, has also been appointed as an independent trustee. Additional independent trustees will be appointed in the coming weeks.
Other trustees include Joe Scarlett, chief marketing officer, PA, Cole Janjua, group company secretary, PA, and Jason Robson, PA partner for defense, security and public sector.
