There is still a very slim chance that the Netherlands will be at Tier 1 in the World Cup draw in Qatar. It’s all about Italy’s unexpected elimination from the play-offs.

One thing is for sure, the Netherlands must win the friendlies against Denmark and Germany. Then national coach Louis van Gaal’s team climbed to ninth in the world rankings. Other than that, it’s mostly hopeful.

    Cheers for North Macedonia
Nice last world cup for Cristiano Ronaldo. Bullshit† All Holland should cheer en masse for North Macedonia next Tuesday. A place in Pot 1 will only be available if Portugal do not qualify for the World Cup.

    World Cup standings

Pot 1 consists of the host country and the top 7 countries in the FIFA Ranking. With Italy left out, there will be a spot for number 8 on the list: Portugal. This country will play at home against Macedonia on Tuesday, March 29th. If the North Macedonians do the trick again, the spot in Pot 1 also moves up again. Then Denmark, which is now still ranked ninth, comes in at pot 1.

The first eight countries that are not in Pot 1 then move to Pot 2. Pot 3 consists of the next eight countries, while Pot 4 contains the 8 lowest ranked countries.

    Initial partition of the bowl
Tier 1: Qatar (hosts), Belgium, Brazil, France, Argentina, England, Spain and Denmark
Tier Two: Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Uruguay, Iran, Japan and Serbia
Level Three: South Korea, Ecuador and Saudi Arabia
    jar 4:

Please note: Decisions will be made in many parts of the world in the coming days. So it is possible that the pot division has been changed. Of course, the chance of Saudi Arabia remaining in the third pot is not very high.
