The largest nuclear power plant in Europe is operating and employees continue to operate, but now they are under the control of the Russian military. According to the agency, the employees must ask permission from the Russians for everything they do. This also applies to maintenance tasks.
“Management and staff must be able to continue to perform their vital tasks without severe pressure from the outside,” said IAEA Director Grossi. The International Atomic Energy Agency says the Russians have shut down the mobile phone network around exchanges and Internet connections. This makes communication with the largest nuclear power plant in Europe very difficult.
