“It is very unfortunate that North Korea has been firing missiles since last year,” Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters on Wednesday.

The submarine missile test came after weeks of heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula, with cooperation between Pyongyang and Seoul intensifying as military skills soar. Under international law, Pyongyang is prohibited from testing ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons.
