We don’t have to explain anymore that Rossi, a fan or not, meant a lot to motorsport. Last November 14 (14 + 11 + 21 = 46) the Italian teacher said goodbye to the royal class. It’s time to take a look at the “Il Dottore” career.
A career with numbers that don’t lie: 26 seasons, 432 players, 115 wins, 235 podiums and, of course, nine world titles. Additionally, Rossi rode 125, 250 and 500 cc two-strokes, V2s, V5s and four in-line engines. Over the course of his career, Rossi has been able to adapt (almost) to all configurations, as we saw for example at racing in Australia in 2003. The 24-year-old Italian at the time had had his Honda RC211V V5 used for barely a year and gets a time fine to overtake under yellow. Rossi prepares and ultimately wins the race by five seconds. And the victory in South Africa in 2004, the first race with the Yamaha M1 inline Four, testifies to the tremendous adaptability of this brilliant Italian, who will become a father for the first time next year!
