Billionaire in dust over mass layoffs via Zoom | Financial issues

Brian Rodriguez, December 8, 2021

The American billionaire wrote this in a statement on the website of his company. Garg previously signed Zoom straight with the door at the house, saying, “I don’t have good news for you guys. If you’re on this video call, you’re part of the unlucky group. Your contract will be terminated with immediate effect.”

The sudden mass layoff, which took place in just three minutes, was certainly not appreciated. A former employee felt fired as a result. There have also been many negative reactions online.

This is not the first time that Garg, who left India at the age of seven for the United States, has been derailed with a harsh message to his staff. Last year, he blackmailed a number of employees via an internal email, saying they weren’t working hard enough and comparing them to “stupid dolphins.”

Better.com made great strides after Garg acquired the company in 2014. The US company has already provided $30 billion in mortgage loans. There are even plans to list Better.com on the exchange. As the future chief of staff for a listed company, Garg will have to adjust his tone and messages to employees, according to the criticism.
