Six participants for the first time in the Orange vs Belgium selection

Ball will be making its real debut on Friday for the Orange Men’s Pro League match with Belgium. A minimum of six players without headscarves appear in the selection of the match that will compete with the Olympic champion.

Jeroen Delmée could only call up seventeen players in his first two matches as the Netherlands’ national coach. Orange has to deal with a lesser man, as a result of the suspension imposed by Sander de Wijn. De Win, who is not currently involved in the selection, insulted the referee after losing the quarter-finals to Australia at the Olympics. And his country is now a victim of that. To be clear: this is the first international match in the Netherlands since that disgraceful exit in Tokyo.

Visser and Major as guards

Aside from carrying the newcomer wagon, the absence of Pirmin Blaak is remarkable. The goalkeeper, who was the number one choice at the Games, had already missed training this week because someone close to him tested positive. Maurits Visser and newcomer Dirk Meijer are the goalkeepers for Delmy.
