Wageningen University & Research is the best university in agricultural sciences for the fifth time in a row. This is evident from the latest version of the Shanghai Ranking.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, is a yearly published ranking of universities ranked by the quality of academic research at those institutions. The list is headed by Harvard University from the United States. The best Dutch university in order is Utrecht University in 50th place.

Five WUR employees and one WUR student are included in Food100 for 2021. Food100 is the Food System Change Agents List. Established names are over the age of thirty, and emerging talent is under the age of thirty. They are people who believe in better and fairer food and drink for all.

Each year an independent jury compiles a list of change agents from the entire food chain. The idea is that younger and older generations are needed to achieve sustainable change. So Food100 is made up of 50 change makers under the age of 30 and 50 game changers over the age of 30. By providing a stage for these people and publicly announcing the menu, the food changers on and off the menu have the opportunity to make a greater impact together.
