“I did it for a few days. It’s a career shift.” Concrete pouring over the bridge. “It has to be with the client at a certain time, it’s a tight schedule.” Only Adrienne didn’t know what was expected of her. “I was the second to arrive. I didn’t know what to do, but they helped me a lot. I loved it.” Because of the substitution, Adrienne was late to her usual work. She and her husband run a contracting company, a large cattle ranch, and a campground with a restaurant.
Meanwhile, Australia is increasingly shutting down due to the advancement of the Delta variant, also known as the Indian variant. Measures are being taken in more and more countries. Adrienne notes that, too. Workers working on her site have to stay longer. “This Miners Working longer shifts, they can’t go back to Perth. It’s usually two weeks off work, now three weeks.”

Adrian drove a concrete truck for a few days
Adrienne Verburg from Kortgene went to Australia at the beginning of 2016. A trip was planned, but once in Australia she met her current partner and decided to stay.
