Vaccination travelers will soon be able to say aloha to ease restrictions.

The Aloha governor said visitors to Hawaii who received the shots will no longer have to meet COVID-19 testing requirements starting July 8. David Ige said Thursday.

Anyone traveling to Hawaii before July 8 must follow COVID-19 testing and quarantine requirements.

Ige has also increased the number of people allowed in social gatherings from a maximum of 10 to 25 people indoors and from 25 to 75 outdoors. Hawaiian restaurants will also be able to do business at 75% capacity.

By July 8, the county expects vaccination coverage in Hawaii to reach 60%.

“Our residents have sacrificed and worked hard to get to this point, but we still have more to do. Please vaccinate to protect yourself and your loved ones. We are close to 70% vaccination coverage after which all restrictions are over and we can return to the life we ​​remember,” Governor Ige said in a statement.

The COVID-19 testing mandate in Hawaii has been in effect since October and requires untested travelers to adhere to a mandatory 10-day quarantine.
