Orange means that between 50 and 75 infections per 100,000 population have been detected in the past 14 days and 4 percent or more of tests have been positive. But the same color is also possible in 75 to 200 confirmed infections in 100,000 if less than 1 percent of tests are positive.

To turn green, there must be fewer than 50 confirmed infections per 100,000 population and less than 4 percent of tests must be positive. Or between 50 and 75 confirmed infections per 100,000 residents and if less than 1 percent of tests are positive.

    Dutch color codes

If seen from the Netherlands, a European country’s yellow travel advice means there are risks, but travel is possible. In this case, the traveler does not have to show a negative test result when returning to the Netherlands and does not have to go into quarantine. This is the case with the color orange, for example.

Green means there are no risks at all. On the State Department’s world map, this only applies to three countries: Poland, Iceland, and Romania. However, there may also be entry restrictions upon arrival. For example, unvaccinated travelers in Poland must still be screened and quarantined for ten days.

Therefore, the Department of State always recommends that you carefully follow the travel guidelines to destinations. Even if you come from an area classified as green by the Early Childhood Development Center.
