Previous changes in consumer behavior, advertisers’ needs, and media consumption were accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to meet the changing demands of consumers and advertisers, Hearst Netherlands says it must reorganize.

An important part of the proposed reorganization is to apply more focus to the brand by narrowing the portfolio. Hearst Netherlands will likely stop publishing 8 of the 20 brands in the Netherlands (6 major brands and 2 sub-brands): National Geographic Traveler (regular editions and National Geographic specials will remain with Hearst), Elle eten.nl, Vogue, Vogue Living, Cheerfulness. Esteemed, Vintage Designer & Fiscalert

Condé Nast, owner of the brands Vogue, Vogue Living and Glamor, intends to roll these brands into the Netherlands with a new partner.

These 12 titles will remain with Haerst for now:

    1. Quotation

    2. Quest

    3. National Geographic

    4. She

    5. ELLE decoration

    6. Cosmopolitan

    7. Harper’s Bazaar

    8. Women’s health

    9. Men’s health

    10. Runners world

    11. Cycling

    12. January

In addition to the intended portfolio reduction, other measures are being considered as part of the reorganization. Before Haerst can provide further ideas on the new path and lines of the new organization, he must first await the advice of the Works Council.
