Moncef Salawi, the former chief science advisor to Operation Warp Speed in the United States, is no longer the chairman of Galvani Bioelectronics. GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) decided this after a complaint about sexual harassment. After he was fired from GlaxoSmithKline, Moncef Al-Salawi published a message that was taken over by the American media.

GlaxoSmithKline announced in an open letter the immediate resignation of Moroccan Moncef El-Sallawi from the position of Chairman of Galvani Bioelectronics. The British pharmaceutical giant made the announcement after it received a sexual harassment complaint against a former chief advisor for Operation Warp Speed.

The letter contains “allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior against a GSK employee.” The facts go back several years when Moncef El-Salawi worked for the company. The group wrote, “Dr. Al-Salawi’s behavior is totally unacceptable. It is related to the abuse of his leadership position and the violation of company policies and the strong values that define GSK’s culture.”

In response, Moncef El-Salawi wrote that he regrets the decision of GlaxoSmithKline to resign from the position of Chairman of Galvani’s Board of Directors. He regrets, “I have great respect for my colleagues and I am sorry that my actions put a former colleague in an uncomfortable situation.” He also apologized to the injured employee and expressed deep sorrow for the “distress he caused.”

He also expressed grief for his wife and family and promised to make changes. I will work hard to compensate all those affected by this situation. He also announced that he was “taking immediate leave from his current professional responsibilities to focus on his family life.”
