The personal details and addresses of nearly nineteen thousand victims who sustained seismic damage to their home in Groningen were leaked through a major data breach in Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM). This will inform the oil and gas company on Tuesday evening.

In all, 120 privacy-sensitive data such as email addresses, phone numbers or bank details were leaked for 120 people.

People whose bank details were stolen were summoned by the Non-Aligned Movement. “This is a bunch of people. We have personal contacts with these people,” a spokesman said. The rest of the group was sent a letter. The vast majority of the data leaked from this group is name and address data (name, address and place of residence), according to the speaker.

The company was informed last week of a leak in Accellion’s software. NAM uses this program to send large files, including documents that contain information about the settlement of loss of value claims submitted by victims.

According to the Non-Aligned Movement, no other information about the allegations in question has been stolen. This data is stored on the network in a protected area. The hackers did not gain access to the information technology systems of the Non-Aligned Movement.

As a result of the leak, all kinds of information was stolen from “many companies and institutions around the world,” according to the Non-Aligned Movement. The leak has since been blocked by Accellion. People with questions can contact us via the NAM website.
