This is evidenced by the figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). In the healthcare and welfare sector, absenteeism was no less than 6.8%.

    The house

Nursing staff and care homes in particular have often had to cancel: at 8.2%, absenteeism was at least 1.1 percentage points higher than the previous year. Out of the 1,000 working days, 82 working days were not completed in these enterprises due to illness.

In financial services, absenteeism was the lowest at 2.8%, perhaps because most of these jobs are now done from home.

    Horeca

Significantly, absenteeism due to illness has risen sharply in the hospitality sector. Many companies in this sector were forced to close their doors in the fourth quarter due to the lockdown.

While absenteeism was at 2.8% in the fourth quarter of 2019, it is now 4.3%. Absenteeism in this sector has not increased so quickly.

In almost all sectors, with the exception of public administration and government services, absenteeism increased compared to the last quarter of 2019. In the first and last quarters of each year, weather-related absenteeism was higher than in the second and third quarters.
