In the United States, unrest is growing now that the election results are late. Especially in states where President Donald Trump and Democratic rival Joe Biden are engaging in a neck-and-neck race, it may take some time before the winner is known. Alaska (3 electoral votes)

In northwest Alaska, Trump leads and is likely to remain so. The country is known as a Republican stronghold. The results may take some time, because according to the latest numbers, only 56 percent of the vote has been counted in the state where so many people live in remote locations.

    Arizona (11 electoral votes)

In the southwestern state of Arizona, Biden appears to be headed for victory. Some media outlets have declared him the winner, but other major news channels are still hesitating. In Maricopa County, where Phoenix is located, chief executive Katie Hobbs told ABC News that 400,000 ballot papers have yet to be counted.

    Georgia (16 electoral votes)

Trump is close to the top spot in Georgia after counting 49.7% of the vote, 0.7 percentage point more than his opponent. In the state, 95 percent of the vote has been counted. If the difference between the two candidates is 0.5 percent or less, a recount can be requested.

    Maine (4 electoral votes)

In Maine, voters can go to multiple candidates. Two voters go to the candidate who gets the most votes in the entire state. About 87 percent of the vote could have been counted there. Other voters are split between candidates who won in two separate constituencies.

    Michigan (16 electoral votes)

Several major media outlets have picked Biden the Northern state winner. When about 99 percent of the vote was counted, it was ahead with 50.3 percent to 48.1 percent. Trump’s team went to court to stop the vote count.

    Nevada (6 electoral votes)

About 86 percent of the vote is counted in Nevada. Local authorities expect it could take until 6pm Dutch time on Thursday for all votes to be counted. Most of the ballot papers still needing processing were to be mailed. Biden now holds 49.3% of the vote, versus 48.7% for Trump.
