Inter 3-1 Bologna: Hakimi scored two goals to narrow the gap with Milan

Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku scored the goal as Inter scored three out of three wins in the First Division, two points behind leaders Milan.

Inter closed the gap with Milan, leaders of the Italian League, as Achraf Hakimi scored twice to help Antonio Conte’s side win 3-1 over Bologna.

With Milan not playing until Sunday, Inter seized the opportunity to move within two points of their city rivals to claim their third consecutive league win.

Romelu Lukaku conceded the ball with his 12th goal this season in all competitions, before Marcelo Brozovic played a superb pass in Hakimi for a second.

Emmanuel Vignato’s goal in the 67th minute threatened to make matters worse for Inter, but Hakimi’s second goal – a great finish at the height of a great race – sealed things off.

Inter’s dominance was early in the 16th minute when he initially mistook a shot from a cross from Ivan Perisic. Lukaku responded sharply to hit the ball in the upper left corner, with defender Danilo being covered only to help her

Lukaku was supposed to double the tally for Inter after only half an hour, but the strong touch allowed Lukac Skorubski to bravely stop.

Inter however secured their second goal in the first half, but Hakimi sped behind the Bologna defense and stood quietly in his second goal in Serie A after having captured Brozovic’s perfect pass.

There was another opportunity to beg Lukaku after the start of the second half, as the Belgian failed to storm the house after Alessandro Bastoni crossed over Brozovic.

Lukaku turned into provider when Alexis sent out Sanchez, but Skorupski remained steadfast again in a singles match.

The Bologna goalkeeper rushed to deny Lukaku again on the clock, and Senisa Mihajlovic – looking to win successive Serie A matches against Inter for the first time since 1999 – made it all important when Vignato hit the ball from close range.

However, the match ended after nearly three minutes as Hakimi cut with his left foot and drilled into a low end Skorubsky failed to get enough.
