    MONTREAL – COVID-19 hospitalizations in Quebec reached mid-June levels on Tuesday as the province reported 26 more cases over 24 hours, for a total of 719.

    Tuesday’s update also saw the addition of 1,177 more COVID-19 cases to the province’s total, which now stands at 143,548 since the start of the pandemic. Among them are 12,264 activists.

    Quebec’s seven-day average is currently around 1,317 new cases of COVID-19 per day.

    Another 28 deaths related to the disease were also reported on Tuesday, three of which occurred in the past 24 hours. Another 22 from sometime between 24 and 29 November, one from 24 November and two more from an unknown date.

    A total of 7,084 people have died so far from COVID-19 in Quebec.

    Of those receiving treatment for COVID-19 in Quebec hospitals, 98 were in the intensive care ward, which is four more than the total on Monday.

    Montreal recorded the highest increase in COVID-19 cases of any region of Quebec on Tuesday, with 306 cases (51,462 total), followed by Monterige with 196 (20,298 total), Laval, 120 (11,584 total), and the city of Quebec, 119 cases. (Total 11897).

    Tuesday’s update also saw a further 1,023 people recover from COVID-19 in the province, for a total of 124,200 since the start of the pandemic.

    Quebec reported that it completed analyzes of 20,326 samples of COVID-19 on November 29 (Quebec reported its daily test numbers two days ago).
