British Airways cancels Sydney flights to 2021

British Airways cancels Sydney flights to 2021

Jeffrey Clark, November 7, 2020

British Airways will not return to Sydney until sometime in 2021, as the airline has suspended travel bans in both the UK and Australia.

The British carrier had previously hoped to resume service in London, Singapore and Sydney in December and was making reservations on the popular Kangaroo route, despite current restrictions limiting the number of arriving passengers and requiring a mandatory stay in hotel quarantine for 14 days which could cost travelers More than double the fare.

These optimistic hopes are now dashed by a four-week lockdown in the UK that includes a travel ban on all but essential travel.

“In light of this announcement, we have made a decision to implement a number of cancellations across our network,” said Mark Morin, Head of Global Sales at the Library of Alexandria.

Policies are in place to ensure maximum flexibility for our customers. If a flight is canceled, customers will be entitled to a refund in accordance with our standard customer guidelines. Our “Book with Confidence” policy continues to provide the ability to change the flight, date or destination or request a voucher for future travel . “

British Airways removed about 50 international routes from its schedule until at least 2 December, including London and Singapore, but also canceled BA15 / BA16 in Sydney through January 2021.

These flights have stopped operating since early April, after Australia imposed mandatory hotel quarantines while Singapore closed its borders and banned transit passengers at Changi Airport.

British Airways Airbus A380s, which were grounded in March 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic spread, are also expected to be grounded until early 2021 at least following the UK travel ban.
