    • Quebec reported 871 new cases of COVID-19 and 34 more deaths on Tuesday, five of them in the past 24 hours. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 108,889 CConfirmed cases and 6,317 people died.

    Government of Quebec Some regions, including Quebec City and Montreal are improving while others, such as Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Mauricie and Lanaudière, are seeing an increase in the spread of the coronavirus.

    Health Minister Christian Dube He said Tuesday that if regions outside of Quebec’s two largest cities could better contain COVID-19, the province would be in good shape.

    Doctor Horacio Arruda, the provincial public health director, said the province is studying its own recommendations for masks, after the Public Health Agency of Canada recommended Canadians choose non-medical three-layer masks with a filter layer to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

    • Stay at least 2 meters from other people as possible.
    • Self-isolation for 14 days after returning from a residence outside the country.
