“Trevor allowed us tonight to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and he is now in isolation,” Clemson coach Dabou Sweeney said in a statement on Thursday. “He’s doing well with mild symptoms but he won’t be available for this week’s game against Boston College. “I have tested positive for COVID-19, and my symptoms have been relatively mild while following the Clemson and ACC protocol,” Lawrence said. “The only thing that hurts me is missing the opportunity to be with my teammates this weekend and play the game I love. I hate that I can’t be there, but I will watch from isolation and pull our men while I wait for the opportunity to join the team.”
This means Lawrence may also miss the team’s November 7 match against the undefeated No.4-ranked Notre Dame. Clemson is No. 1 in the 6-0 polls.
Lawrence has completed 70.7% of his assists for 17 touchdowns this season. He also rushed for four touchdowns.
