Clashes between supporters of ‘Jews for Trump’ and opposition protesters during a demonstration in New York City

Detective Martin Brown Lee, a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department, told CNN that the convoy was traveling on Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan, and eventually encountered a group of counter-protesters upon reaching Times Square.

A separate law enforcement official told CNN that the convoy is believed to be organized by a group calling itself “Jews for Trump.” CNN’s WLNY reported that the motorcade set off from Brooklyn and made its way to Manhattan on Sunday.

A law enforcement official said that when the convoy met a group of anti-protesters in Times Square, some Trump supporters got out of their cars and attacked other protesters.

CNN has reached out to Jews for Trump for comment.

Twelve people were arrested in connection with the clashes in three regions, according to a law enforcement official. The group of charges included assault, disorderly behavior, reckless endangerment, and obstruction of traffic.
