Miley Cyrus presented a hard cover for Cranberries’ song “Zombie” while on her hiring of three songs from the popular Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles as part of Save Our Stages (#SOSFest), the three-day National Independent Venue Association Festival Virtual utility to support independent music venues that are at risk of permanently shutting down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The singer reserved the cover of “Zombie” with simultaneous translation of Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry” and her “Midnight Sky”.
Cyrus has been a one-woman cover group in recent months, and is using virtual live shows as a platform to put their own spin on songs like Britney Spears’ “Gimme More”, Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe” and Nico’s This Days (During Her Backyard Sessions) And Hall and Oates “Maneater” (on Tonight Show) , “Help!” (For Global Citizens) and Blondy’s “Heart of Glass”, which she sang live at iHeartRadio Music Festival and later re-released as a single.
On Saturday, #SOSFest also presented exclusive collections by Foo Fighters and Phoebe Bridgers at Troubadour, Brittany Howard at Ryman Hall in Nashville, The Roots at New York’s Apollo Theater and more. Sunday performers include Dave Matthews, The Luminaries, Black Pumas, Nathaniel Ratliff and more.
