President and CEO Rob Lynch will be based in Atlanta, according to an internal company memo obtained by Louisville Business First. A representative said that the majority of the workforce at Papa John’s headquarters will remain in Louisville, as IT is the company’s largest division. The total local employment in Papa John is currently around 1,200 full time workers. About 200 jobs will be created at the new Atlanta headquarters, but it is not clear how many employees will remain in Louisville. It indicates that all company employees will be notified of how the new structure will affect them by November 2 and resettlement and termination packages will be offered. “All of these decisions were made with one goal: to create the best restaurant company in the world. Please know that these decisions are not made easily, and we know that this will personally affect many of you,” Lynch wrote in the note. “We will ensure everyone is supported throughout this process, especially those most directly affected. Thank you to each of you for your contributions to Papa John’s.” He added that the company is looking for a new CFO and once someone is appointed, he will determine the appropriate organizational structure and location for the Papa John’s financial team.
