The Eurovision Song Contest in Ahoy Rotterdam attracted 183 million TV viewers. That’s over a million more than two years ago, in the previous version. The song festival was broadcast in 36 countries.

During the Eurovision Song Contest, 50.6 million unique viewers from 234 countries watched online via the Eurovision Song Contest’s official YouTube channel. The festival is popular for young people. Their share of viewers has risen sharply.

The Eurovision Song Contest has also been watched more in other countries. Most of the viewers are in Germany. For the eleventh year in a row, the Germans were the biggest crowd. There were also more viewers in Italy, France and the United Kingdom. The largest increase was in Finland. This country reached the final. As a result, more Finns watched the latest broadcast by 80 percent over the release two years ago.

Especially in Iceland, many televisions are assigned to the Eurovision Song Contest. Of all Icelanders who have watched TV, at least 99.9 percent have followed the Eurovision Song Contest

According to Sietse Bakker, executive producer, he believes the Netherlands issued a clear calling card. “This is what we can do in the Netherlands if we work well together. This is what we can do in Rotterdam if you really want to.”
