Celta Vigo vs Barcelona – Live broadcast!

Barcelona will seek successive victories at the start of the new LaLiga season when they travel to Celta Vigo on Thursday evening.

After a tumultuous summer dominated by the epic Lionel Messi, Ronald Koeman’s reign got off to a great start over the weekend as Ansu Fati scored twice in a 4–0 win over Villarreal.

Celta Vigo narrowly escaped relegation last season and only won one of their first three matches this season, although Pallados has not been a happy place to look for Barcelona in recent years.

Team news

Barcelona were left without first goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and it is expected that Neto will switch between the posts again.

Defender Samuel Umtiti is still absent, while Junior Verbo is suspected of having a hamstring problem. Martin Braithwaite was allowed to play after a thigh problem.

Meanwhile, Osman Dembele is still linked with a move to Manchester United.

Prediction: Celta Vigo 1-2 Barcelona

The demolition of Villarreal of Unai Emery on Saturday was a perfect tonic for Koeman and Barcelona after a very difficult summer.

That impressive start should continue here against Celta, who narrowly escaped relegation last season and drew twice from their first three games in 2020-21.

However, this has not been a happy hunting ground for the Belgrana during recent seasons. More on that in a moment.
