It's another initiative by Venice to limit mass tourism: from June, speakers and groups of more than 25 tourists will be banned in the Italian city.

Venice is one of the most visited European cities and has been experiencing problems for years due to the huge influx of tourists. Mass tourism, for example, affects the climate and quality of life in the city. For this reason, UNESCO recommended last August that Venice be placed on the List of World Heritage in Danger.

A safety official told reporters that from June, groups of more than 25 tourists will be banned to keep large group tours and tours of Venice's historic center under control. BBC News. The use of loudspeakers is no longer permitted because, according to the city council, they cause confusion and inconvenience.

At the end of November it was announced that tourists would soon have to pay a €5 entrance ticket to Venice. For now, this is an experiment: between April 26 and May 5, they have to pay daily, and then only on Saturdays and Sundays. In January there will be a special website where tourists can register to visit.
