Everything looks a little different from air. This is why photographer Alvin Josh Walt takes us on a journey through Alvin with his drone every Saturday. This way you will experience Alvin in a nutshell. This time the marina is on Heimanswetering, the main base of the Alphen aan den Rijn water sports association.
The marina is located along Heimanswetering near Wetering Park. Due to its location on Heimanswetering, the marina is an important route for boats and large ships. Plus, it’s easy to sail to other destinations since Oude Rijn is nearby. The special thing is that this private marina was built entirely by volunteers from Watersportvereniging Alphen aan den Rijn.
At the end of 2011, the marina was renovated, which was also carried out by volunteers from the Water Sports Federation. All scaffolds have been fitted with new cap and electrical installations. The docks on the Weteringpad side were recently renovated, which were completed before the season opened on April 1.
What the marina itself is proud of is the high port rating in Motorboot magazine in 2015. Then they got an average of 8.1. Not surprisingly, yachts from all over the world visit the marina as well. From Sweden and Norway to France and England, and sometimes boats come from Australia or Canada.
