Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III ordered the deployment of these seven thousand soldiers. A senior defense official in the background said the main unit in this group of forces is the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Enablers are also deployed. The official said the forces would head to Germany “to reassure NATO allies, deter Russian aggression, and prepare to support a range of other demands in the region.”

This means that a total of about 12,000 American soldiers were sent to Europe from the United States or ordered to be deployed, and another 2,000 soldiers in Europe approached NATO’s eastern flank. They join the 80,000 US service members stationed in Europe. If we add the service members of NATO members on the continent, the number comes to more than 2 million, the official said.

Some of the deployed US forces from the group that put Austin on high alert in January, the official said.

The official said the troops would initially be deployed in Germany. They can be transferred to other NATO countries if necessary. “We expect them to leave in the coming days,” he added [de Verenigde Staten] The official said.

Russian forces continue to attack the main population centers of Kiev – the capital – and Kharkov, in the eastern part of the country, in Ukraine. The official said Ukrainian units are fighting against the Russian invasion, but there is no way to classify their resistance.

Russia has launched at least 160 short- and medium-range and cruise missiles at Ukraine from land, sea and air, and more Russian forces have entered Ukraine, the official said. The missiles target military bases and airports around Kharkov and Kiev. Again, there is no way to verify its accuracy or the losses it causes.

    The Kremlin wants to talk!

The Kremlin says today that it is ready to negotiate peace with Ukraine in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. The terms of this remain unclear.
