With four races remaining, Sergio Perez finished second in the championship. The Mexican is only one point ahead of Charles Leclerc and in Austin he wants to take the next step in securing P2 in the championship.
The US Grand Prix is just around the corner, and for Red Bull, only the constructors’ championship is at stake. In Japan, Max Verstappen has already managed to win the drivers’ world title and Perez remains only in second place. In the press release Red Bull, the 32-year-old Mexican is looking forward to racing in Austin.

The Circuit of the Americas is one of the favorite circuits for drivers, including Perez. “I’m happy to be back in Austin. It’s always fun to come here and it’s one of my favorite races of the year, not to mention the atmosphere, it’s incredible in the city, but also on the track.” Checo is only one point ahead of Leclerc and wants to defend that second spot. “I want to finish the season second in the drivers’ championship, so I’m more focused than ever to finish the season in a good way,” he continues.
Creators Championship
Red Bull Racing wants to crown the season by becoming the team champion and the Mexican will do his best for that. “We want to win the constructors’ title along with the Max title in Japan. The last time we showed a display of dominance, we got a double podium and it would be great to repeat it here in the States, I think the public will enjoy that,” said Perez.
