Netherlands equals medal count from Rio 2016 in Tokyo

With sailors Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz bronze medals at 49erFX, the Dutch sports team in Tokyo now equals the total harvest five years ago in Rio de Janeiro. In the 2016 games, TeamNL took nineteen medals. The counter is also now 19 and there will be a medal from boxing star Noushka Fontaine, who is already sure of bronze in the category up to 75 kilograms. In the final days of gaming, it should become clear whether it’s likely to be gold or silver.

In Rio, the Netherlands won eight gold, seven silver, and four bronze medals. In Tokyo, the pick-up on the eleventh day of the Games consists of five golds, seven silvers and seven bronzes.
