Kim Clijsters and Tom Brady become owners of the Pickle Ball team

Kim Clijsters announced Wednesday that she has become the co-owner of a new team in the Pickle Ball League. Also bought NFL star Tom Brady in.

Pickleball is a rapidly growing sport in the United States. It is played on a mini tennis court with wooden rackets and a plastic ball.

“I am excited about this investment opportunity,” Clijsters said on the Major League Pickleball (MLP) website. “What I love most about owning a pickle ball team is the fact that I can help shape the future of this sport. I come to love this sport, with great people who are also my best friends. I think it’s great to be able to help show pickle ball professionally to the world Through the experience I gained at the highest level in tennis.

Clijsters and Brady’s new team is part of a three-tiered growth plan for 2023. The US Pickle Ball League will grow from twelve to sixteen teams. The prize pool is over $2 million.

The new team, made up of Clijsters and his teammates, will be in 50 per cent women’s hands. After all, the primary task of the competition is gender equality. Other MLP team owners include NBA stars LeBron James, Draymond Green and Kevin Love, and Super Bowl winner Drew Bryce.
