Jan Hendrik Erasmus will be the new Chief Financial Officer of Athora Netherlands and its insurance companies from June 13. The Dutch central bank approved his appointment and the Athora Netherlands Business Council issued positive advice. Erasmus succeeds Jim van Hess, who was appointed interim chief financial officer in June 2021.
Erasmus (1980) previously held the position of Head of Group Risk Management at Aviva plc, where he was responsible for risk, actuarial, compliance, financial crime and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Aviva, Erasmus held the position of Director of Customer Relations and Member of the Board of Directors of the NN Group. He joined the NN Group from consultancy Oliver Wyman, where he was Partner and Head of the UK insurance practice. Erasmus holds dual South African and British citizenship.
