The Ukrainian Football Association announced, on Monday, that two Ukrainian players have been infected with the Corona virus, and four others have been placed in isolation before the scheduled matches against France, Germany and Spain.

The association said the Shakhtar Donetsk duo test from goalkeeper Andrei Pyatov and midfielder Taras Stepanenko was positive and that four other players from the club were in isolation. None of the six were included in the list for travel with the rest of the Ukraine national team ahead of the friendly against France in Saint-Denis on Wednesday.

The isolated players were named after Mykola Matvienko, Victor Kovalenko, Marlos and Junior Moraes. The federation said they would undergo more coronavirus tests and could join the team ahead of the Nations League match against Germany on Saturday and Spain on October 13.


The Albanian Football Association canceled a friendly match in Armenia on Monday due to political unrest in the former Soviet republic.

The association said that the friendly match that was held in Yerevan on Wednesday was canceled “due to the dangerous situation and the turmoil currently occurring in Armenia.”

Since late September, Armenia and Azerbaijan have been fighting over the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh region, where they accuse each other of launching attacks.

The friendly match against Armenia was scheduled before Albania’s matches in next week’s Nations League matches in Kazakhstan and Lithuania.

Albania is second in Group C after two matches with three points. The group also includes Belarus.
