For orange lionesses, there's no better time to meet Team USA

The Orange Lionesses will compete against Team USA in the Quarterfinals of the Football Division at the Olympic Games. Fear factor for lionesses: In the last World Cup final, the Americans were very strong 2-0. Still, there is no better time to take on Team USA. Quarter-final matches are scheduled for Friday 30 July (1:00 PM Dutch time).

Team USA women have been unbeaten in no fewer than 44 football matches. That ended in the first group game at the Olympics: Sweden were very strong with a 3-0 score. Then the United States beat New Zealand and played on Tuesday a goalless draw with Australia. Therefore, Team USA took second place in the group. Australia also finished fourth with 4 points.

No more magic
The Netherlands topped the group with Brazil, but due to a better goal difference, the orange is No. 1. The draw determined that the lionesses would face Team USA in the quarter-finals. In the final of the 2019 World Cup, the Americans won with a score of 2-0. Incidentally, they still have more or less the same choice, with players like Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe.

However, the magic appears to have worked on Team USA. Hopefully that will remain the case on Friday.
