Fimke Paul also won the 400m hurdles at the Bislet Games. In her second Diamond League appearance this season, she was the fastest, just like last week in Rome.
Paul had a time of 52.61 and was therefore about half a second faster than the Italian capital. Then I ran 53.02.
Paul was much faster than Ukraine’s Anna Ryzhikova, who came in at 54.81. Britain’s Jesse Knight finished third with 54.84 points.
Last year, the Olympic bronze medalist Paul won four hundred hurdles in all the Diamond League competitions she started, including the final in Zurich. I was surprised by her prime time in Oslo. “The weather wasn’t great and I couldn’t get around the last hurdles very well,” she said. Paul is preparing for the Dutch national championships, the World Cup and the European Championship, three tournaments in just two months. “It’s going to be a busy summer, but I’m ready.”
Just like last week in Rome, Liemarvin Bonevacia is nowhere near the World Cup limit, which is 44.90. The Olympic rider finished fifth again: this time with 45.77 compared to last week with 45.79. The winner again was Kirani James of Grenada who finished 44.78.
Maureen Koster ran the personal best in the 5,000m. At 15.00.64, she was more than 6 seconds faster than at the beginning of May, when she hit 15.06.86 in San Juan Capistrano, California. With that said, the South Holland player stayed just short of her best time, which was unsurpassed for six years. By that time she had already qualified for the World Cup in Eugene and the European Championships in Munich. Coaster finished 14th in Oslo in the race won by Ethiopian Dawit Seyoum on 14.25.84.
Jamil Samuel met the maximum participation in the European Championships exactly in the 200 meters. With her 23.05 she came third in Oslo. Denmark’s Ida Karstoft, who set a national record with a time of 22.73 seconds, won.
Elvis Avrifeh ran a personal best in the 100m in his sprint: 10.35.
