Emirates will introduce its Premium Economy cabin on two of its three daily flights between Mauritius and Dubai beginning September 1, 2026, expanding premium travel options on a route that supports both international tourism and business connectivity.
The upgraded service will add a combined 80 Premium Economy seats across Airbus A380 and retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft. Flights will operate between Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius and Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest international aviation hubs.
Premium Economy Added to Two Daily Emirates Services
Premium Economy will be available on flights EK703/704 and EK709/710. The EK703/704 service will operate with an Airbus A380, while EK709/710 will use a refurbished Boeing 777.
Both aircraft will be configured with three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.
The Airbus A380 assigned to the route will carry 56 Premium Economy seats, 76 Business Class seats and 437 Economy Class seats. The Boeing 777 will offer 24 Premium Economy seats, 38 Business Class seats and 214 Economy Class seats.
The change gives passengers traveling between Mauritius and Dubai a wider range of fare and cabin choices. Premium Economy is positioned between traditional Economy Class and Business Class, offering additional space and enhanced services without the higher cost associated with a business-class ticket.
Emirates has served Mauritius since 2002. The airline’s latest cabin investment reflects the route’s importance to the Mauritian tourism industry and to passengers using Dubai as a connecting point for destinations in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates’ Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands, said the move reflects the airline’s continued commitment to Mauritian customers and the country’s travel and tourism sector.
He added that the enhanced cabin is designed for travellers seeking additional comfort and privacy on longer journeys.

Premium Economy Cabin Offers More Personal Space
Emirates’ Premium Economy seats measure 19.5 inches wide and provide additional legroom and recline compared with standard Economy Class seating.
Each seat includes a six-way adjustable headrest, a footrest, in-seat charging and a wood-finished side cocktail table. Passengers will also receive a 13.3-inch personal entertainment screen for movies, television programs and other onboard content.
The cabin’s combination of wider seating, added personal space and dedicated amenities is intended to provide a more comfortable experience on long-haul trips. Mauritius-to-Dubai flights also serve travelers continuing onward to destinations that can involve considerably longer total journey times.
The onboard meal service includes a welcome drink served in glassware, dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients and meals presented on Royal Doulton china. Emirates will also provide Premium Economy passengers with an expanded beverage selection.
Additional benefits include priority boarding, sustainable amenity kits, blankets and larger pillows designed specifically for the cabin. Customers beginning their journeys in Dubai will have access to a dedicated Premium Economy check-in area at Dubai International Airport.
Dubai Connections Expand Premium Travel Options
Passengers traveling from Mauritius will be able to connect through Dubai and continue in Premium Economy to as many as 70 destinations within Emirates’ global network.
Available connections will include selected services to Bangkok. Emirates said all six of its daily flights to London Heathrow will also offer Premium Economy, allowing eligible travelers to retain the upgraded cabin experience beyond Dubai.
That connectivity is particularly relevant for Mauritius, whose economy depends heavily on international tourism and access to major overseas markets. Dubai provides links to several destinations that are not served directly from the island, including key commercial and tourism centers in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
The introduction of Premium Economy forms part of Emirates’ broader aircraft refurbishment program and continued investment in its Mauritius operations. Deploying both an A380 and a retrofitted Boeing 777 will allow the carrier to offer the cabin across two different aircraft types on the route.
Customers can book Premium Economy tickets through the Emirates website, the Emirates Travel Store at The Docks 2 in Caudan or an authorized travel agency.
With the September launch, Emirates is strengthening its position in the Mauritius market while giving passengers an additional option that balances price, comfort and long-haul convenience.
