CVSome difficulties included a place for Novak Djokovic in the Belgrade Open final. The world’s No. 1 Serbian player needed three sets to clear Slovak Andre Martin: 6-1 4-6, 6-0.
The 34-year-old also participated in another tournament in the Serbian capital, the Serbian Open, last month. Then he had to recognize his boss in the Russian Aslan Karatsev in the semi-final battle.
In the run-up to Roland Garros, Djokovic, who won the Australian Open in February, could claim his second title of the season. In the final, the world number 1 will meet Slovakian Alex Mulcan, who was coach of Argentine Federico Delbonis 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The final match will be held in Parma between the Italians Marco Chicinato and Sebastian Korda of the United States. Chikinato was better than Spaniard Jaume Munnar with a score of 7-6 (2) 1-6 6-1, while Korda defeated his compatriot Tommy Ball 6-3 6-3.
Roland Garros starts on Sunday.
