Botic van de Zandschulp is scheduled to take part in the Winston-Salem ATP Championship next week. The tennis player from Veenendaal was placed third in the latest US Open preparatory session.
And Van de Zandschul, Tuesday, after his defeat to Daniel Medvedev, indicated his doubts about his participation in Winston-Salem. The holder of the number 24 in the world, who in recent weeks has not been completely satisfied with his level, even thought about returning home. Traveling directly to New York, where the US Open begins in a week and a half, was also an option.
‘But we still want to play some games at the US Open,’ said coach Peter Lucasin, who was not present this week in Cincinnati. Van de Zandschulp will be assisting again in the coming weeks.
Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain has so far been placed first at Winston-Salem, and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov – who has a wild card – is number two on the standings list.
