Public news channel NRK reported that an anti-Islam activist got off the road in Norway after setting the Quran on fire. It is about Lars Thorsen, who set fire to a Koran in Mortensrud, a suburb of Oslo.
Pictures of the burning and collision were taken and circulated on social media. It shows how the Thorsen all-terrain vehicle crashed multiple times with another vehicle, even flying over it.
Thorsen was slightly injured, as were the other occupants of the car. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested on suspicion of intentionally beating and causing serious injuries. Prior to the incident, Thorsen could be seen setting fire to a Quran and arguing with passersby trying to put out the fire.
Thorsen says he asked for permission to hold an anti-Islam demonstration this weekend, but police banned it because it could lead to unrest.
The anti-Islam activist has often burned the Korans in recent years, as he put it in protest of the “Islamization of Norway”. I have previously been convicted of hate speech.
